CAPS

It is important to keep in mind that the CAPS Members do not produce their own product, but they license the rights to various third- party manufacturers.  These companies are known as licensees.  A few examples of licensees are: Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Coliseum, American Needle, etc.  There are hundreds of licensees at any given time. It is not necessary to identify the country of origin, as this has no bearing on the authentication process.

These licensees manufacture a wide variety of products, ranging from jerseys and hats to jewelry and stickers.  Due to the wide range of products produced, there is also a wide range of price points for products from anywhere between $5.00-$500.00.

Here are a few quick tips on how to identify counterfeit product bearing the CAPS Members’ trademarks.  For more detailed instructions, please visit the Members’ individual “Labeling and Product Identification” page.
